Hi Folks,

May I be nosey and asked what celebrations (if any of course) you have planned in Dalyan?

I think I've got Christmas sorted (thanks to a tip from John) and will hopefully take a boat to Koycegiz and have lunch in a restaurant there.

New Year's may be spent at the Sun Ray.

Any other hot tips or ideas?!

Hi Carla,
Spent Last Christmas in Dalyan and had a great time, but this Christmas we are spending it with our Grandchildren as they are one and nearly 2.
Last year our friends spent New Year at the Ley Ley and had a great time.Im not sure but I think something is going on at the Metin Hotel but John should help you with this, as hes there for New Year.

Regards Julie

Hi Carla,

We will probably be spending New Years eve at the Ley Ley hopefully Linda & Tay form LT's bar will be getting us tickets. They had a good time there last year.

Unfortunately I have been told that I must wear the blow up santa claus outfit this year!!!!! hmmmmm.

Luckily it is walking distance for us so I shouldn't cause too many accidents on the way up there

The Metin usually do something but not sure what it is like, or if you like alternative entertainment you could always try the Dalyan Queens Hotel !!!!

True, but it sounds like the next batch could be even more interesting! Anyway let us be the judge of that.... come on, post those pix!

At least if you fall over you won't hurt yourself!!!

Looks like you had a great time. Certainly you'd never expect to see a Santa on one of the Dalyan boats!

Don't forget Xmas eve, there is always a big party at Iztuzu for all the foreigners, ok this was started by the German contingent many years ago but it has grown and now includes everyone. Take plenty of booze and try and outdo everyone with your special Xmas food, finger food is best!!! Most of the bars and restaurants that are open do something for xmas but The Queens Hotel seems to be better organised and have special things happening all over the traditional european holiday period. Some of the local Turks seem to enjoy having extra cause for celebrating and we have been wished a happy xmas even in Ortaca.

Thanks for the info!

Do you know when the beach party starts and is it on the side you access by car or boat?

Well, apparently the water is warmer in December than it is in May/June as still hasn't cooled down from the Summer heat... so I've heard!

Still brave effort... not about to volunteer to test the theory!

Carla, the xmas party on the beach (the road end) starts about midday xmas eve and seems to go on until the drink and food run out or it gets cold.
Swimming, I am not that brave but my wife has swum at the beach every month of the year, she says it is warmer in winter than any beach in England in summer but then I think she is mad.

Hi Steve

Good for her!

Thanks for into - might be driving (picking up a friend from airport in the pm) so unfortunately will have to let the British contingent down by not drinking... should be good fun anyway.... maybe I'll try and make up for it with my finger food!

Sorry for back to back posting (hoping I won't get my knuckles rapped as I would on another forum :grumpy:), does anyone know if there is any form of transport on 24th to the beach party?
Thanks!
