My Favorite restaurants

Of the ones only open during the season, probably Bistro Clou, Ali Baba, The Kervansaray and The Begonvil.
All year restaurants,Ley Ley, Akkaya Garden and Burger King (sorry)
However we are more likely to use snack places like donner or durum all year round.

This list in no way demeans any of the other restaurants but we are not on holiday and have completely different reasons for going to a restaurant.

Sorry about the distress I seem to have caused!!! Burger king is not in Dalyan and probably never will.
The point was favourite restaurants two of which I mentioned are not in Dalyan, Akkaya Garden is in Dalaman and quite a drive away as is Fethiye and Marmaris for the dreaded Burger King although the one in Fethiye is not open yet and there are too many good restaurants in Fethiye to list them.

Living in Dalyan you do sometimes miss western style fast foods, I have been known to drive to Izmir, a 4 hour drive each way, just to have KFC and that was my 1st in about 6 years, funily enough it was a bit of a disapointment so stopped and had cop sis and kofte on the way back which was fantastic and cost about half of what we spent in KFC. Burger King, I just seem to need a fix every 3 or 4 months.

Personally, I'd rather eat the packaging than the burgers from fast food outlets. No1 son worked in a McD for a while as a student job and will not even go inside for a drink now, let alone eat.

My first eating place is always the B.B.Q. garden then the rest of the stay is where ever that takes my fancy,usually pick between the same 1/2 dozen or so but will have to spread my wings and give others a try.. must try the side street restaurants for a change...any good recomendations ??.. only a few weeks to go now :Stars:

How about Cagri Pide, Fiesta, both by the market place, Atay Dostlar across from the kids playground, Dalyan Iz, and I see that the Waterfall restaurant has reopened next door to the Binlik Hotel, although don't know what that is like. Maybe the lucky ones who live there could comment. We are like you and tend to have our favourites, but we are also going to try more this time around.

Most of the little back street places are pretty good if you are just after a snack, the Kokorec next to Fiesta for example does wonderful durum (wraps) and sort of hot sandwiches. For a good dinner try Ali Babas next to the new sevikoglu supermarket,' used to be Nokta', Taffy is very entertaining, very fair and the food is always good. Do not be allarmed by the lack of a menu or price list he will talk you through everything.
You must try 'Kol Borek' which means arm pie!!! There is no arm in it, no pun intended, it is filo pastry stuffed with potato, veg and cheese and before they cut it into portions it is about the length of a forearm, hence the name. Just as there are no ciggies in Sigara Borek. Around this same area there are some other interesting lokantas.
Newly open, I have not tried it yet but have been told the food is very good, is the Euro Corner Bar next door to the Euro Deli it is run by Kadri and Ron from the Deli.
The Akay now has a pide/pizza oven, was not impressed by the pide but it was their 1st day so expect it will get better. These ovens are good for lots of other things, so expect the casseroles to be tastier.

I know from reading posts that you have just got back from England, hope it was a good trip, but bet you're glad to be back!! Was just wondering if in your spare time (ha ha) you had tried the new restaurant at the Tezcan, especially the buffet, was just interested to know what it was like. Also could you shed some light on where exactly the Euro Deli is please? Is it part of the Queens Hotel? This time last year we were there and it was really quiet but great just the same, so I'm assuming things are starting to open up round about now in readiness for the season. 21 weeks on Thursday, look out!!

The Euro Deli is on the main road out of Dalyan, on the opposite side of the road to Migros and a little further out....hope that helps.

Hi.not expecting the Tezcan to start food until May, though have not been lately to find out and opposite BIM is where the euro deli is, quite a bit further up from Migros but it is all relative, to us 10 minutes is like one side of Dalyan to the other, nowhere is very far, it just helps if you head in the right direction.

I absolutely love arm pie and borek.....we had arm pie at a restaurtant in the square opposite the mosque.....so if alii babas do it we will give them a try Steve
