To all home owners, we have had some severe weather, high winds etc. Some roofs and chimneys have been destroyed. Hopefully none of yours.
However if you have friends or service people, it would be an idea to get them to check your properties for you.
I have checked all the properties that I look after and only one had a little water come through the windows where the shutters were not pulled down tight enough.
They all need constant checking during the winter and to be ventilated after any ingress of water, Patio drains being blocked is another way that water gets in the house.
It is windy again tonight (sunday) and we are due for more over the next week or so.

On Friday we had the strangest weather I have yet seen, strong winds with heavy rain that turned it into driving fog and then later there was a lull during which we had a dust cloud, obviosly some remnant of a sand storm in Africa, very odd, then later it rained mud before turning into normal heavy rain.
One of the forum members is here at the moment, perhaps he will comment on it when he gets back.

Thanks for the heads up Steve, will get our place checked over. As long as it didn't rain frogs we had enough of them last spring!!!!!

Hi Steve. I think you were referring to me.
Been back a week now and not had time to check the forum. Yes the weather was horrendous. It blew a 60ft tree over in my friends garden while I was there, luckily it missed everything except a large ornamental terracotta pot that they purchased last summer. Oh dear!! Also I had no electric for two days cos of a tree taking a power line down, and the hailstone on Sunday night was the size of cherry tomatoes. But worst of all it meant the building of my house had to stop. Just booked another flight for the 16th March Steve so we'll have to meet again for a coffee.

Hi Stan, yes it was you, I try not to mention names just in case. I had forgotten about the hail, fairly impressive but I have seen it before, did you not think the dust cloud was wierd though, it was mentioned on Fethiye Times as well. We ended up being surrounded by a lake as usual so did not venture out much.
See you next time, maybe you can bring the better half with you, we can meet up.
