Have had enough of the stuff this past couple of weeks, currently it is trying to decide whether to rain, sleet or snow.

Us 'Southerners' moved to Hull in 1989 and either 1990 or 1991 you had the first big snow in about 20 years and being quite used to the stuff it was quite funny watching all these young people driving as if everything was normal!!! then finding things were not quite the same when a corner or bend came up. Total chaos.
Now when we walk out of the gate and look west we see snow on mount Sandras, about 250 km away it is like a picture and as near as I like to be to snow.
However we used to love Hull Fair Week in October, Bitterly cold. I don't remember, is it Carters who have a fish and chip outlet at the fair? Much better than from the shop for some reason. We very much enjoyed our 10 years there and IF, hopefully NOT EVER we have to go back to the UK we would probably choose Hull we had a good life and made many friends, unlike the south. I am not being horrible to southerners, it is just you do not have time for anything except making a living.
This is probably another reason why northerners like Dalyan in particular, it is a bit like how 'home' should be!
