Unusual Title for a new thread I know but...............We are visiting Dalyan for the first time in June (see introduce yourself section) and my daughter has been doing a bit of on-line research about the town etc...

Amazingly she has turned up some information (don't ask where) that claims that David Hasselhoff (yes he of Baywatch fame) has a part share in an ice cream parlour in Dalyan. The article went on to say he can "often" be found at the ice cream store during the summer months!

Now don't get me wrong we're not a family of "celeb stalkers" but is there any truth to this???

No truth at all in that rumour. However we do have some famous Turkish actors and singers living here, a couple of other celebs and a few lottery winners but we tend to treat everyone the same. Especially famous people and royals when they visit on holiday, I cannot imagine anything worse than being famous and going on holiday and being gawped at by all and sundry.
So a note to all the rich and famous people out there, come to Dalyan and get away from it all.

I saw him swnning around the business lounge in Heathrow once playing the big star and being loud. He walked past me and I said to my friend that David Hassellhof is just as big an arse in real life as he is on TV. I could tell from the colour of my friends face that he had sat down behind me...:Shocked:

I hope he is not in Dalyan, he is almost a foot taller than ,e.

The south of Dalyan on the Mediterranean coast, lies İztuzu Beach, near the village of the same name is a popular area for sunbathing and swimming. There are regular boat and minibus (dolmuş) services to the beach. Visitors should be aware of the wooden stakes in the beach to mark nesting sites. Baywatch star David Hasselhoff is the co-owner and occasionally on site manager at the Gerda's Ice-cream cafe, which is situated on the main east-west road out of the town centre.

Taken directly from the site. Personally I was planning spending most of my holiday in Gerda's..now I doubt there even is a "Gerda's" ice cream cafe

Sounds like a plan...........Gerdas will definately be on the "must visit" list and I'll employ my super sleuth daughter to interrogate the owner!!!

About 3 years ago i was in the B.B.Q. garden restaurant (at the far end of the village) and got chatting to a familiar face who turned out to be an actor in Brookside, Holby City,& Emmerdale among other programmes on t.v. he has now bought a holiday home in Dalyan :Cool:

Hi Chris..his name is Mark Moraghan, realy nice guy and well known on t.v. Ramazan & Mehmet who own and work in B.B.Q. garden told me that he is a regular to the restaurant and that he has bought a home in Dalyan,when i met him he was looking for a property ...
