my other half, well i say half, more like two thirds, anyway, she wants to know if anyone knows anything about the Villa Defne, which we have booked for a two week jaunt in september, and is it hot enough for a ginger to get sunstroke in september? shes hoping it is, so that i will have to stay indoors for a fortnight and she can go on the razz on her own.
dalyan, you have been warned!

Hi, don't know anything about where you have booked, but it will still be warm in September. Have a look here http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/LTBS/2008/9/20/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA it will give you the averages in the past.

Villa Dephne is quite a nice little complex with mature gardens, The roads have all been paved around there, well not immediatly, the rest of the walk into town is. About 10 minutes to the centre. September is a funny month, you could get a storm which will clear the air quite nicely, usually hot during the day but much more comfortable at night. My son in law is also a Ginge and goes around with some enormous number factor sun cream and yet still manages to get a quite nice tan. So you should both be able to go out on the razz.

Sorry, got that a bit wrong about Villa Dephne, it is a nice little complex of 4 apartments in one building. If you are in 1,3 or 4 they are 1bedroom with lounge diner and the most enormous bathroom with a bath! The building is actually only 5 minutes walk from the centre and there is a new road to the side that has not been paved yet. Who knows maybe it will be done by the time you get here. It is not a busy road because very few people realise it is there.

No.2 is the only one that has been modernised, it has a 2nd bedroom, nicer kitchen but smaller bathroom, no bath. Did you book it with the owner? He is a friend of ours.

we went through owners direct website, originally the apartment we tried to book was owned by a ms osment, but sadly hers were booked for the time we want, so she contacted gavin, (i think) and got us no 2 at the same price, for which we are increasingly grateful, as the more we see of the area, the more we cant wait.
only 169 days to go!
by the way if we say we know you, would we get a discount do you think? could be worth a large jar of marmite! or even, wait for it, a SQUEEZY tube of the black stuff!!!!
no?
ah well, worth a try i suppose.

hope this place is worth it, everything ive seen looks fantastic, but knowing my luck it will be full of chavvy brits, moaning about the food and how hot it is, and how you cant get a nice cup of tea, and everythings cooked in olive oil, and you can never get an english newspaper or channel on your tv, but at least you can get fosters lager in the hotel bar, so much better than that local mu....., well you get the picture, please, tell me i will be the only moaning chav there!!!
if you dont take your asics cut downs you wont see a chav in sight :Happy:
you will be in for a pleasant surprise fella

All Chav's are shot on sight as they come past the Ley Ley!!!! :Yep:
As Andy says you have no worries on that score, the only thing you have to worry about is getting the Dalyan Bug, it is very infectious.

right, flights booked and paid for, bloomin expensive this year, seems everyone wants a bit of turkish delight, 151 days to go, anyone know what a reasonable price for transfers are? been quoted ?50 return, but as weve never been to dalyan before, were not sure if thats the going rate or not, seems pretty reasonable.

Hi there
We have just booked for our friends to join us for a week in September. We get free transport from the airport but they have to pay. Had a good long look around, well being from Yorkshire I'm always after a bargain. Tamarisk Tourism came up trumps at ?38 return for up to 3 people in a car which I thought was very good. I think there are others, namely AtoB or something like that, but as far I understand, and I may be wrong, they are more like shuttles and probably tend to wait for several people arriving instead of the personal service you would get with Tamarisk. If you are interested in Tamarisk, let me know, I have an email for Arzu who prefers you to book through that. Happy hols, we will be there the same time as you by the sounds of things. I know its 22 weeks last Thursday, didn't know how many days!! Good luck with the transfers.

On the subject of transfers, it is always better to use one of the local travel agencies for two reasons, one is they will know where you are going to and will liase with the hotel or key holder so things will go relatively smoothly and second thay have to pay huge amounts of money for their licence and insurance to cover any eventuality. The main, best and most reliable are Kaunos tours, Yesil Dalyan, Ozalp and Tamarisk. There are a few others but they do not get my seal of approval and until they prove otherwise they will not get it.

must say, Kaunos were recommended to us, and are favourites as they advertise our destination accommodation on their website, so they should know where it is.

Yes Kaunos do know where it is. I actually sold all these apartments from the original owner a couple of years ago. Complicated but all sorted. The pool is actualy the first that Kaunos ever built, still going strong. They still look after the transfers and cleaning etc.
Good to hear your a property agent Steve

ermmmm, my wife has just pointed out, amongst other things, that dalyan is a naturAListsparadise, and that if i wander around nekked people will a) laugh, b) throw stones at me to make me go away, and c) call the police.
so, a thong it is then!!!!
(she also pointed out that 1) i should wear my glasses when reading and typing, 2) nobody would notice anything if i did walk around in the nuddy and 3) i couldnt blame it on the cold weather there!
So what dates are you there from m1cksut and untill
do hope you overlap October
