Hi Superhoop, I now wish I had thought of a great name like that. Another one I like is bobthenob on one of the other forums. I got labelled with dalyansteve some years ago and it stuck, it was to differentiate with another Steve called Stevetoo, I was the original Steve but it was always pronounced as SITIV. Is there a story for your moniker???

Of course Dark Efes is available and if you come in the winter there is a Tuborg winter beer that is similar, we also have cloudy beer, mexican beer, beer with lemon, ice beer and many others now.
This is not a third world country, we have wifi, 3g, satelite television with more chanels than you can shake sticks at, though you probably wouldn't want to watch many of them.
Got my sarcastic head on today, must have been the quite nice bottle of wine from Dia last night. Oh, I nearly forgot, you can now get Skol here, unfortunately it still tastes as disgusting as it did when I was younger, however the Dia own brand beer is quite nice.

sadly, dark efes is not available everywhere, so i find it eases my mind if i know in advance that i can get it.
as for the others, well, i would quite like to try the tuborg winter stuff, but i just cant be bothered with lager beers, (unless theres nothing else). beer with lemon? i dont like cocktails either!
as for wifi, 3g, satellite tv, bleurgh, if i wanted them i would stay at home.
having said that, after a table full of the dark stuff, i have been known to watch turkish soaps, AND understand every word!
and yes, Skol is , was, and ever will be, disgusting.
whats Dia? is that an expensive shop?

Dia is a small supermarket chain a bit like Bim, both a sort of Turkish version of Aldi but nowhere near as good. Bim does not sell alcahol but Dia does and their own brand stuff is very good, they also have a very drinkable inexpensive wine called Avamos Vadisi and Diabrau beer which is pretty good and cheap. All subject to availability, they do not seem very good at stock control as they often run out.
You might be lucky and find some of the winter beer but I doubt it.

Strangely some Turkish soaps and comedies are based on old English ones such as fawlty towers and eastenders, so yes after a few you do sort of understand them

Hi John, Dia is in the new building inthe market square, opposite Dalyan Kokorec and Fiesta more or less next to Cagri restaurant. Surprised you have not seen it, it's been there nearly 2 years now. Like most supermarkets you only tend to get certain things there, as you would in Migros and Sevikoglu. On market day the fruit and veg is sometimes cheaper than the market, I have even noticed market traders buying some of their stock in there.
