The same rules now apply at Dalaman airport as they do in the Uk, so no longer will you be able to buy cheap drinks outside to take with you to the airport.
Let's just hope that they don't find it a good excuse to put the prices up to even more stupid levels than they are now.

Hi steve do you know when these came into force as we went through last wednesday with some water (on show) and did not have a problem.

According to their website it came into effect on the 20th.April 2009. Have a look it's on their front page. I think it is www.atmairport.aero/Dalaman and has a little flashy "new" thingy at the side of it. There is probably a name for the flashy thingy I just can't think what it is.

Update based on flying out of Dalaman on 30/5/09. We had bottles of large COke/water in hand luggage and where never challenged though I guess that they would show up on both x ray machines. However I also (inadvertently) got through the metal detector with a purse full of chance.

I flew out of Dalaman yesterday (5th June) and they are clearly not enforcing the rule yet. Lots of people were taking through bottles of water etc without any problem.

HI everyone, just a quick note to say we came through Dalaman last Thursday and we took a big bottle of water with us and nobody said a word! Lots of people did and took their own food too.

same here - we left on Friday evening and no problems at all - we had water, coke( the drinking type!) and sandwiches and nobody checked, or even asked to see the plastic bag you are supposed to use - more interested in getting belts, watches and anything metal off your body.
Roll on 5th Sep when we return, 18 degrees here feels freezing after last week
