Well I know this will upset one member, you know who you are 'm1cksut'. But for the lucky few who are now counting down the days and trying on all your hoilday clothes that have not seen the light of day since the last holiday and wondering how they could have possibly shrunk, when they have been sitting in a suitcase for the last few months. Collecting together all the items your friends have requested be it Marmite, packets of Corriander seeds or just some proper biscuits.

I am considering becoming like the queen and having an offical Birthday as mine is always absorbed into the Christmas cheer and gets lost within the tinsel and carols. To this fact, as my family will be in the same place as well as many friends I am considering organising a gathering for all in Dalyan.

As this is just the beginning of an idea I thought I invite all of the members here who would be interested in meeting up for drinks. This is just to get a feel of the interest.

So if you would be interested in putting faces to quotes I will explore this further with dates and venue.

We could organise a flash mob and all descend on one venue at a set time!

I would be up for meeting you all, just say where and when and if there is Birthday cake would it be the scrummy fruit type with marzipan???? Some things we miss ridiculously!

Now the cake idea is good but I would have to say absolutly NO to marzipan.

I have been trying to think of a venue as my family will be 8 strong including my neice & nephew. So it won't be a late one.

As I have only 24 sleeps and my parents have 11 I thought I better start getting a little more organised.

The Silver Chairs by the Mosque.
The one next to where the Turtles Statue used to be (can't think of the name)

Thats about it at the moment, any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think you mean the Mosque tea garden, or the restaurant next to where the turtle statue was which is Kosem. There was a tea garden there last year but not sure this year as the belediye have now opened one where the dalyan hotel was.
So, Mosque tea garden or Kosem neither will mind as long as we all drink something, no alcohol at the tea garden mind you. But the play ground is near for the kids.

Ok here we go!

As I have recieved requests for different weeks I thought what if we have two goes.

The first being on Saturday the 29th the place the Silver Chairs by the mosque, so that the kids can go and play in the play ground. The time between 6 - 7.30 then if anyone wants to carry on and move to one of the many bars or resturants they can.

The Second I am open to requests but looking back through the threads another batch of Dalyanites are arriving the second week in June so how about Wednesday the 10th same place same time.

I can't promise cake though.

What a shame you will miss the get together on the 10th. However, a little secret, most of the locals meet at the tea garden around 12 midday on Saturdays, we might be spread around a bit but you can't miss us, we are the ones not speaking German or Turkish, although we sometimes all overlap a bit, so we are the ones speaking mainly English.
