I thought I would start a new thread about either your best trips"outings" around here or for newcomers somewhere else in Turkey. I have got way too many for around here and I have also mentioned elsewhere about mudbaths, Sultaniye and Night time cruises, so I shall start with a "nautical one".

Many years ago our first love in Turkey was Kusadasi, before it got too big, and one time a wealthy friend said why don't you go on my gulet for the day, I have just a couple of places left. I shall tell you now it was ?10 a head but included all food and drink as much as you wanted, I shall also tell you that my wife and I are pretty good sailors and have been subjected to some of the worst weather the sea can throw at you,so much so that if we were all going across the channel everyone else booked a different day, but they are other stories.
Anyway picture this, glorious sunny day, smooth sea, beautiful gullet and we had been personaly introduced to the captain and crew by said owner, we were first on and then some other English couples arrived, the drink started flowing, I used to drink during the day then, some time later the last of the passengers arrived 5 gorgeous looking Dutch girls any way the crew thought it was there lucky day. Off we went, normal day out lots of chatting going on and stripping off and smothering of suntan lotion, then the girls informed us all that they were lesbian friends from Amsterdam. They then started stripping off and getting amorous, the poor boys jaws dropped and we had to explain to them that they were out of luck, still they thought it was brilliant. We stopped at a steep rocky cove and the gangplank fixed so we could get off and have our barbeque, all going well so far. A few double deckers moored up as well. We had more or less finished lunch when suddenly a fierce storm blew up, after just retrieving the last of the equipment, the gangplank smashed to bits on the rocks, the tender was crushed beneath the rudder, breaking the rudder completely. We had it pretty good the double deckers were being thrown around quite violently, throwing people and anything not bolted down over the side including their food. Using sail and motor the 2nd officer cleverly got us under way and many hours later got back to port, the girls all got seasick, covered up and went to huddle in the cabin, the rest of us went forward with waves crashing over us, the skipper and I trying to drink as much alcahol as we could find. All in all a brilliant day out. The owner when told about what we thought was a great day out was only upset that he had missed seeing the 5 girls from Amsterdam.
