Well met, the Winters, Cassie, June and Barbara plus hoardes of other Winter family!! Very nice to meet you all, plentifull cake, Genoa and Ginger, much appreciated. Seemed like we had known each other for years, instantly recogniseable as Dalyaners having recognised them as some of the people who are normally around at some point during the season.
Looking forward to the one on the tenth of June when we are expecting the Northern contingent.
We are also thinking of having another one in September especialy for m1cksut so as to feel more complete, so set a time and place m1cksut it will be your day.

 I do think of other things like how good it is not to be in the UK. And planning on what next to do in my garden there. But it is thirsty work and those needs have to be quenched

Let's not forget most of you are going to be on holiday, so priorities first, beer, where is best to buy it for the house and where is going to stock my favorite brew? Some of us can probably remember when there was very little choice, it was nearly all Efes or Efes and if you were really lucky you would find a market that had Tekel which now seems to have completely disappeared. When you live here full time John, your priorities will probably change a bit but if you like Fici in returnable bottles you can get it by the case from Acarlar.

It was good to meet up with Sandra and Steve on Saturday - sadly I won't be there in June or September to meet with other Dalyaners. However, although I'm home now, will be back for 4 weeks in August and would be pleased to meet up with anyone going then.

Has anyone tried Dark Brown Efes, or, as I saw at Istanbul airport, Yesil Efes?
Is the latter the eco version?

We will be there in August but I do not know how many sleeps it is, the answer might be too depressing.

We must meet up for a drink then, Vince.

I'm easily led, Nadia is the grown up out of the 2 of us. it would be nice to meet up with someone who can point us in the right direction. There seems to be a lot to pack into a short time.

I'll look forward to meeting up with you Vince (drink or not)!
There is lots to choose from and to save wasting time it's good to chat with someone who's done it all before.
Have you worked out how many sleeps to go?!

No, I am fortunate enough to be very busy at work and weeks are passing in a blur. We will be arriving late on the 17th but have 2 weeks booked. Nadia is hoping that it is not too hot as she is not good with extremes.

We were just discussing Dalyan during dinner and were wondering whether to buy snorkels here or there. In Cyprus, I had 2 of my sons with me who bought supermarket standard kit which fell apart after a couple of days. Is there decent kit out there?

We bought ours out there and they seem ok but I'm a novice and wouldn't know good from bad. We've used them quite a bit during the past year and they're still in working order.

It was very hot in August last year, but the temperature began to drop gradually as the month wore on.

I'm very much a novice as well. I tried scuba diving for the first time last year and kept forgetting not to breathe through my nose. Meanwhile the boys were doing fish impressions down to 12 metres. It took me 2 days to clear my sinuses.

Oh and 64 sleeps to go, that sounds better.
