Hello, my first post here!

Having just had another great holiday in Dalyan (thanks for all the information on here - it really is useful), we want to book again asap. Due to schools we are looking at booking a fortnight in April, as we could not do the summer heat. Weather websites seem to show a reasonable amount of sun though I know we run the risk of some significant rain and cooler temperatures. My questions are more around what will be open/happening in Dalyan.

1) Transport.
a) Will the dolmus to the beach be running?
b) Will the standard boats run eg beach ?

2) Restaurants
I know that some restaurants will be open but will we have a reasonable choice for two weeks ? We like an occassional riverside meal eg Beyaz Gul dinner but also like the more informal Metin Pide, Ramazan Han type restaurant.

3) Bars
Less of an issue as we like a drink in the Zakkum on the riverside which is run by a couple who I think will be open for any customer!

4) Shops (important for some of my family!)
Will all the tourist style stalls/shops be shut?

5) Prices
Will we notice any difference out of season?

Overall I guess I am asking what is the 'tourist' experience in Dalyan before the real season starts. Knowing the character of Dalyan in May I'm not sure that I like the idea of a totally tourist free zone in the centre of town. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Yes, yes, yes, no and no! You are talking about April and probably school holidays so most things will be open and running. Just not many tourist at that time, pity realy as it is a nice time of the year as is November.

I was in Dalyan during the Easter holiday and many restaurants were open already, with others getting ready.
There weren't many organised trips, although private boat owners were out and about. The public boat to the boat wasn't running and I think the dolmus to the beach began towards the end of my stay.
It is a lovely time to be in Dalyan - each year I have been in April the weather has been hot most of the time, with the occasional shower.
Shop-wise - plenty were open, with others preparing to open.
I managed to do several trips to the beach or up to the lake, although the water was a bit cold for swimming for my liking, although there were those braver than me who went in.
