I tried the Indian last week and it was really good, except for the poppadoms, which were very oily. If my memory servces me right, they offer Indian, Thai and Italian dishes, not Chinese. Strangely, chicken nuggets and sausage and mash come under the Italian section of the menu!

Hi Dalyan Steve, do you mean the Cafe Blue Bar next to Golden Crab? If so, can you still just go there and sit and have a drink? Thanks for the info. By the way, did it ever sell, I know it was up for sale at one time.

Yes, I got that wrong again!!!! Italian not chinese. I was next door in the Golden crab who are also doing some Indian dishes, I had balti chicken tikka masala with onion bahgi and must admit it was very tasty but not hot at all and the bahgi was miniscule but good.

Yes, you can still drink at the Blue Bar. The restaurant is at the back facing the square.

Thanks for that, I got to thinking my favourite watering hole was no more.

I hear Sello who was at Tin Tin's last year is now connected with Blue Bar. Is that correct?
A really nice guy. If it is him I wish him every success.

But not new this year Steve - they were doing all of these last year as well - we ate there twice and the balti was not far off Birmingham standard. Have to agree about the poppadums though - they were a bit on the greasy side

Has the blue bar been sold or just rented out, not that it matters either way, just wondered, as I knew it was up for sale. Funny thing is that Askin the bartender at Blue bar said he wouldn't be working there this year which is a shame as he was really good and a great guy, and brought in many repeat visitors, and because of this we were thinking we might try Tin Tin this year for a change. Now if the guy from Tin Tin is at Blue Bar, we may just stay put. I know things always change from year to year, and I too wish whoever has Blue Bar much success. A change is as good as a rest I suppose but we will miss Askin, but hopefully he will stay in Dalyan.

Still go to Tin Tin's, live music is good and
go to the restaurant next door. Funny name but food is very tasty and reasonable.
Jack (Check) does the cooking and he is very good. Nice friendly guy.
Relaxing to sit at either place having a beer and watching the river traffic across the road.

A quick update, the Indian has moved next door and joined with Capricorn, the Nestli Han (next to tin tin) has changed hands but the food may have improved, any or all of this can change without notice as things do around here.

Interesting news Steve - Capricorn is one that never appealed to me so have never eaten there - might give it a go in June though if they have taken over the Indian - does that mean the Blue Bar has stopped doing food altogether now?
one other question - has the new tourist info office opened yet?

The blue bar has been sold to Cello, he's still doing some things with the kitchen but don't know if it's still the indian food...

Askin is still in Dalyan and has got his own bar now: Askin Cafe Bar, it's on the mean street next to the school.

Askin's bar looks lovely and I can't wait to visit in september, its more centrally located which is good, and another good thing is we don't have to sit opposite the Fun Bar. I hope he does really well, he deserves it very much. He has looked after us well over the years.

he has been packed out every night for the last 2 weeks so he is doing really well - the added bonus if you want chips, snacks etc he just gets them from the Hocohan next door. Hocohan by the way is intending to add a lot more traditional Turkish dishes to the menu from next Monday, which is a shame as we head home tomorrow - but will be able to try in September

is that what was Antik? hard to keep up with all the changes that occur yearly, but a lot of fun too. Somewhere different to try! We will be there in september too, so looking forward to it. So glad Askin is doing well, he really does deserve it and works very hard. Good luck to him.

It was indeed the Antik, and Askins bar used to the Anatolia. Maybe we'll see you there in Sept

Oh you can count on that and the fact that I will be sitting there most evenings, before deciding which restaurant to go to, and watching the world go by. Heaven.

I have just returned from Dalyan this morning and visited the Bistro Blue/Blue Cafe Bar on several occasions.
Sello (Selahi Canbey) and his wife Annie are the new owners of this Bistro/ Bar.
They provide excellent quality food and have 6 tables on the square at the rear of the bar.
The restaurant doing the Thai & Indian food is in fact next door and nothing to do with Sello or the Bistro Blue.

we tried the blue bar last year and it was awful, nothing like indian food at all, sadly the good chef had left, and i think the remaining staff had just bought a load of frozen, microwave ready meals.
