Hopefully some good will come from it.

The meeting was more of an introduction to how the foreigner workshop would work. This workshop would be part of the greater DKK (Dalyan City Council), which includes other working groups such as, womens group, youth group, disability group, envirnment group etc.
The DKK is an autonomous non governmental organisation that provides a flow of information between the Belediye and residents.
Eight people have been nominated/volunteered to form a representative committee for the group. The committee are in the process of forming means of communication between the Belediye and local residents and villa owners, and another meeting has been arranged for early September (can[t remember the exact date at the moment)
I think the main aim of this group is to give foreigners a means to obtain factual information, voice any concerns or opions they have and be able to participate in improving life in Dalyan for all. I'm sure one of the committee members will post on this forum to let us all know what's happening.

The next meeting for foreigners will be on the 2nd September, this should be when the stearing committee come up with an agenda and to vote for a proper committee. The next council meeting with the Belediye, which I presume will include representatives of all the committee's , will be on the 8th Sept. I am not on the steering committee but may put myself forward for a voted one.

The meeting was quite interesting as no one knew what it was all about and most probably thought it was just a place to air grievences. It now appears that the way to get these things done is via representation, so lets take one step at a time, after all the last Belediye could not give a damm about what the foreigners wanted let alone how we could help make Dalyan a better place to live in.
