I have started this new thread as the visa/residence has sort of prompted it.

I did a little math the other day just to work out exactly what we spend and I was surprised!

We own the property, have no pool but a large garden, we also have a car for business and because we like to travel.
So major annual expenses are the car, insurances, house health and car, residence permit, these alone accounted for an average of 1,000 lira a month.

We try to buy everything with the credit card and our average credit card bill is 1,000 lira a month.

Now we are not big drinkers, we do not go to the bars nor do we eat at expensive restaurants.
None of this includes the business which I keep entirely seperate.

We live a fairly simple and quiet life so I was actually shocked at what we spend, now with the increases you could probably add 10% to that figure.

You can live on a lot less than that as the car, insurance, electric, telephone and digiturk make up at least half of that amount.

well, just to add a little perspective, and to help comparisons,
our household expenses, for a small terraced house, in the lowest council tax band for the last year were £520 pcm or 1238.45ytl, this does not include mortgage costs, but does include unavoidable car costs (tax, insurance, mot), council tax, leccy gas and water, plus insurances, we dont have a pool either, we do have a small skating rink at the moment, but the council may close that down when the weather improves.

Private health insurance is quite a large chunk of that 1000 lira a month!
I do know people who do live on less than £100 per week but what sort of life do they have. I did the math because I wanted to find out what my new business needed to make for us to enjoy a fairly good lifestyle and basically it works out at 2,000 lira a month which I don't think is excessive, the other reason was I want to sell the product at as low a profit per unit as possible.

Less profit, less cost to the customer therefore more customers. Makes sense, I wish you luck.

Yes Lower cost should equal more sales. Already I can sell for less than any of the other 2 suppliers.
I am still sorting all the legal import paperwork, which is a bit of a nightmare, but basically I have tentative orders for all of the first shipment and hope to get them by March and start Installations in April. Then I can order the next shipment and start advertising, which I have not done yet, I need to get a few fitted in Fethiye to get the tongues wagging and then we will be up up and away. Inshallah!!
