So What Is A Blog?

A blog is basically a type of website, like a forum or a social bookmarking site. As such it is defined by the technical aspects and features around it, and not by the content published inside it.
The features that make blogs different from other websites are:


content is published in a chronological fashion
content is updated regularly
readers have the possibility to leave comments
other blog authors can interact via trackbacks and pingbacks
content is syndicated via RSS feeds

Keep in mind that it is the bundle of those features that should define a blog. An online forum could also offer an RSS feed for example, but that would not make it a blog.

i have read blogs elsewhere, and the similarity with bogs is astoundingly close, given the amount of c**p some of those people write.

Like the opening page with the pictures of Dalyan - informative for newcomers on their first visit to the site. Not too sure about the rest - will take some getting used to once I find my way around. As for blogs - don't know much about them but willing to learn!

As with all things in life some blogs are interesting and others not. I think if John and Andy did blogs on their move here, it would be interesting for others wishing to make the move also for us, having already done it, to see how much difference there is to what we did then as to what happens now.
If they are truly honest and include the bad as well as the funny things that can happen, these should be truly readable blogs.
Things can happen here which we have to put down to TIT,"This is Turkey", as there is no other logical explanation.

Something that happened the other day, We went to see a cafe owner in Ortaca and when I asked if I could smoke, he and another guy was, he said of course, "this is Turkey and we don't like laws that we don't like". Say's it all really!
