Can anyone tell me where the Minta is in Dalyan? We have booked to go there early September for 3 weeks.
Thanks
Cherian

If you know where sevikoglu supermarket is, on the corner of the old Ortaca road, you go up there past the tourism school on the left, take the first main right turn, it is now signposted for Iztuzu beach, on the right hand side after about 100m is the Minta Apart. Very nice it is too.

Thank you Steve - you have given me some idea of where it is located. Cannot find it on Google Earth though. Is it near the MaviKosk and Ali Baba Otel do you know?

Yes, sort of in between.

Thanks Steve - we don't know this area. Went to Dalyan for the first time last May and loved it so much that we booked again for September. However, I got appendicitis and had to cancel the holiday. Fingers crossed for the 3 weeks we have booked for this September! We are going to Turgutries early May - trying it out for our son who is thinking of this resort for his main holiday later on in the year. Going to get the phrase book out today as we like to have a go at the language.

Although these are self catering aparts, you will find Ali and the family more than willing to provide food and drink at fairly reasonable prices and his weekly 3 course dinner is unmissable, you may feel a bit pressurised at first but you will soon get over it. They are just trying to make your holiday special, most of the guests are repeat customers.

I like your description of the Minta Steve - must be good if they have repeat business. Thanks for the warning though which hopefully won't be a problem. We couldn't believe the hospitality of the Turks when we first started to visit the country but soon began to realise it was genuine which is one of the reasons we visit Turkey each year. Started off visiting Bodrum in 1993 and were smitten straight away. Thanks for your replies - much appreciated.

Perhaps you could advise on your stay at the Minta on your return. For the location, put in Hotel Mavikosk on Google Earth and the Minta is adjacent to this hotel.
We are staying in Turgutreis for a week on 3rd May so shall just be returning to the UK when you take off for Dalyan. Have a great time.

I shall give you a full report on my return. really looking forward to it now. I went to Turgutreis but probably too long ago for my memories of the place to be relevant. it was more or less one street then.

Sally, can you tell us about the Tufan apartments please, they come up extremely cheap and I always wonder if these things are too good to be true. The difference in prices though means that we could possibly afford to go twice a year instead of once, providing we can bag a cheapy airline seat.

Hi, i dont know if they fly from your local airport but we have just booked for 2011 with aegeanflights.com cheapest ever £295 all in for 2, just for info. 2011 flights are out now, we booked today. Tufan apartments... we arrived after a long delayed flight at 0500 having diverted to Bodrum first, we were tired and our first impression was not favourable because these apartments are basic. The apartments are very spacious, decent sized rooms, and clean. Kitchen area needs upgrading as does the bathroom. However, that was our first impression after a lengthy travel. On day two, we were more than used to it, the Tufan family are lovely, really lovely, bear in mind we had paid £42 for 7 nights through hotels4u which is about £6 per night, they gave us cake and tea round the pool every afternoon, which was embarrassing as we had paid so little to stay. If you book direct with them I think its 25-30 pounds a night, so you can see what a good deal we got. The pool area is clean and the gardens and the plot the apartments stand on is large. If you asked me honestly if I would stay there again, I would say yes, and we may be going back in August. If you asked me if it meant I could go twice to dalyan if i stayed there, I would say DEFINITELY. I must stress however, it is basic, pots not matching that sort of thing, tiles could do with changing in the shower. if you want any more info pm me your e mail and i will e mail you if it will help. throw caution to the wind... it will be fine, and if you really couldnt stand it, there is plenty of accomodation in dalyan just waiting, but i would be suprised if you did. we had room 207, the balcony is not overlooked at all and would ask for that room again if I was booking. if you e mail them a request, as we did, they replied and came up with what we wanted.

Thanks so much for that Sally. I think when we go out in September I will check them out for maybe the next trip, there are several more advertised on alpharooms.com too, which I will be checking out. I see the new Dalyan Spa has opened along the river, I definitely WON'T be staying there, far too rich for my blood but it looks stunning.
