Steve thanks for that, very helpful. Are they doing trips to Akyaka too, and if so, how much. Many thanks.

Akyaka is not listed but if you ask they might drop you off there on the Mugla run but it would not get you there in time for a boat trip, so probably better to do it independantly.

I found this very useful thankyou. Do you know the price to Orataca? and also do the buses run throughout the day to Iztuzu beach or just once a day. thanks.

The buses run to the beach throughout the day, there is a small shed like structure next to where the busses wait they will be able to let you know when the next one is due to go. Where the bus drops you off at the beach there is a board to let you know the return bus times.

Not sure on the bus price to Ortaca as I haven't been on one for a while I think it used to be about 4 or 5tl but I may be wrong.

Thankyou John and Lezlig for answering me. Another thought occurred to me, are the prices under the beach cost one way or return?

When you get the beach dolmus you pay the return fare and get given a ticket for the return journey which can be used on any of the returning dolmuses. This is the same as on the water taxi to the other end of the beach.

thank you John, but I didn't word it very well on reading it back. Should have put the prices quoted underneath, for example is it 15 lira return to Koycegiz or is that one way? I apologise for my mistake.

We went to Akyaka on the Marmaris bus, we left Dalyan at 10 am and were taken right down to the harbour before it went on to Marmaris then picked us up at 5.30 from the same place, we paid 25 lira return. I don't know if all the big boats had left but there were plenty of others offering various trips.

Hi Steve, With us coming out in Sept we will need to get to Bodrum to meet up with our son, who will be at Turgutries. It will be an overnight stop, would you recommend bus, train or even hire a car for the two days.

Personally I would recomend hiring a car, Turgutreis is quite a big spread out sort of place and where you need to get to could be difficult by bus. It will also give you transport for you all if you want to go somewhere. Although public transport is excellent it is time consuming, the trip to Turgutreis by car will take around 3 hours by car and 6 hours or more by bus with waiting and bus changes and if there are at least two of you there will be little difference in cost.

we did the bodrum run last year, on the bus, it DOES take a fair while and an overnight stay is a very good idea, i think it took about 5 hours in all from dalyan, into ortaca and then to bodrum, and although it was worth it for the great scenery, it was very tiring doing the return journey in one day.
it WAS cheap though, from memory i think it cost about 50 tl for the two of us.

Very sensible, make sure you have aircon, it has been excrutiatingly hot and humid lately. Enjoy Bodrum, there are some really nice places to go to, by car!
