next time i want to do the midnight lake trip and she wants to do a crab fishing trip.
anyone got any info on either?
you know, costs, who does the best/cheapest/safest/most boozy one, where they go from, etc etc.
many thanks

Never have done the midnight lake trip. By the time I've had pre-dinner drinks, drinks with dinner and after dinner drinks, don't think I've ever seen midnight! We did do a couple of trips last year with Dale who is located opposite the post office, great guy, very knowledgeable and good company. Did the 12 Islands and the lake trip to mud baths and springs, both days cost £12 each for a full day with a good lunch thrown in too. Drinks are aplenty but cost extra. Two very good days out. This year I want to try Saklikent Gorge and Akyaka if the dolmus are running to Akyaka this year.

ha ha, what are you trying to say! Yes we will be there in September and can be found or could be found until it was taken over, at Cafe Blue Bar, so this year we will be at Askin Bar in the old anatolia restaurant building, Askin being the best barman in town in my opinion. Usually around 7ish for a few drinks before deciding which restaurant to frequent. I gather there is a new fun bar, which we will NOT be frequenting. Although I like a pre-dinner drink I prefer drinking it in a nice quiet ambient place (is ambient a word?) and watching the world stroll by. Be there 15th September until the 29th.

How they ever let this Fun Bar ever open is beyond me - it is big enough to cater for at least one coach party, if not 2, and directly opposite the old blue cafe, so probably a good move for Ashkan to take over the old Anatolia. The Fun Bar is the last place I would ever drink in. Makes you wonder if they are trying to turn Dalyan into another Marmaris

Maybe they're thinking of shipping in from Sarigerme again, they used to do that, bus a load of people in for a Friday evening. Me being crochety, but I hope people vote with their feet and go elsewhere. Some folks have just returned from Dalyan and say the guy on the front of house is a rather agressive type, with a hard sell attitude. I for one will be taking the the walk across the square instead of going up the main street, that way I can bypass him.

The Fun Pub - anything but as far as we are concerned - how did they get that awful building through any planning permission. We also found the front of house guy rather agressive and demanding why we were not going in, on telling him that if we wanted Marmaris type of entertainment we would have gone there! His answer was that there were a lot of people in Dalyan who like his bar - evidence was not visable whenever we went past! Only time will tell as to whether they succeed or not.

Ruhi, the captain of the Yesil Dalyan boat Asiyan (parked!) opposite the Green Cottage and Tin Tin bar does a very good Midnight Cruise also a crabbing trip - go to him direct and get a good price used to be about £10/£12 including a super bbq. He also bbq's the crabs if you catch any - always plenty to drink on board. We will probably be there early June - haven't got the itininary sorted yet.

Hi M1ck, the food might be free but I don't think you will get the booze for naught! Looking forward to meeting up with you again.

We will be there from 2nd June to 16th - look forward to meeting you if you are in Dalyan then - it's good to put faces to some of the contributors on here.
For the river 6 or 8 of us always use Turgut and Nellie - their boat is called Turgetreis ( only takes 12 max) and moored up just behind the school past the Ceyhan restaurant - normally go out about 10 and back about 6 with swimming, crabbing, lunch, hot springs etc. - always a great day out with 2 lovely people, and the boat has incredibly soft cushions! Worth talking to them if you are interested

ah, banjo, i think we were supposed to coincide last year, til goldtrail dumped on me (onthey only did it to spite me, you understand, im sure it was totally personal) and i had to go to tunisia, (well, you can see the result of THAT little trip coming to fruition now, cant you?)

anyway, just look for the bright red nose and i wont be far behind it!
