Hi

I am staying at the metin hotel 12-19th june with my girlfriend. I am just wondering which option is best regarding getting turkish lira: exchange it all in the uk and take it with me or exchange a little in the uk then exchange sterling notes when arriving in dalyan?

Also it is our first time there and are wondering how far the turkish baths and turtle tours are?
only 8 more days in work cant wait!

ive always found a better rate over in turkey than here in the uk, having said that you do need to be careful where you exchange, the post ofice seems pretty safe over there, but the clerk will tend to round it down in his favour sometimes (usually an odd couple of pence worth of lira)
banks seem to give a terrible rate, if you can get in to them!

The post office is the best bet for exchange, unless you have a debit card which doesn't charge commission (Nationwide/Post Office are the ones I know). There are plenty of ATMs around.
The best Turkish Baths are a 15 minute walk from the town centre at Sahin apartments. If you go to Yesil Dalyan travel agency (a few shops up from the post office) they will arrange for you to be collected and brought back at a time to suit you.
It's best to do it that way because if you go on an organised trip you'll probably have to wait quite a while for your scrub.
For boat trips to see the turtles walk left along the river path away from the centre, go round the harbour and look for a boat called Aysian opposite TinTin bar. The boat captain, Ruhi, does a variety of trips and is excellent value. If he is not there, ask for Timur, his brother. Have a great time.
