No comments, moans, groans, laughs or info? Come on people stay awake and let's have some dicussion on the forum - if only about the weather. (Oh, sorry forgot same old sun and warmth - okay wait till winter for that).

hello,Im here, just back from 2 weeks in sunny dalyan, and it was al always a gr8 time, weather was good and beer was cold. I see some of the local restaurants are advertising "truckers breakfasts and full english breakfasts". Whats wrong with a good old turkish one? when im abroad I want to eat the local food and not greasy english junk.I cut my foot when I was over and had to visit the local DR, that was the weirdest thing ever, half way through examaning my toe(he was about to lance it) he stopped to watch the horse racing, he then went on to ask me if I liked the horse racing? second visit to him involved finding him in the local bar drinking efes and playing backgammon. Got to say though he did do a good job sorting up my toe!!!!!!!!!.

be lucky Gordon

Hi Gordon, nice to know someone is around still. Glad you enjoyed your stay in Dalyan and agree totally with your views about the food. Keep truckers and lorry drivers breakfasts in England, Turkish food is better and more healthy! I expect some people disagree but the traditional Turkish food (less some of the oil) is very healthy and also very tasty. Sorry to hear about your toe and I know the doctor you are talking about, he is good when you can catch him! Horse racing has a large following over here and there are betting shops, but gambling is illegal........... okay, some rules and laws seem odd! Hope your toe is better now and you come again to Dalyan.
At least, Gordon, there are two of us on the forum.
Regards

I'm here just haven't had anything interesting to post. Well I suppose I should make everyone aware that we now have a burgundy e-bike so if you are startled by a "mean machine" that is totally silent then don't worry it is only me or the missus. Andy's better half also has a silver one so you will probably see both of them around Dalyan.

So apart from getting miffed by the shooting of bee-eaters by the locals and doing the occasional odd jobs around the house when temperature permits it has been a lazy sort of summer.

I think it should be mandatory that anyone riding an electric bike must make engine noises and go beep beep all the time. Mind you the only times we have been nearly knocked over by them has been daft Turkish riders, usualy on the pavement or riding along the wrong side of the road. Good luck with them, sound like a good idea, no registration, no tax, no mot and no licence!

Andy is the one to make broom broom noises he does it all the time even when sitting on a chair .

How about we all go round making 'engine' noises so that we can't hear Andy??? Not walking behind him...........ever! I think I may get an electric scooter too - we could form a club.........think of some names for it. :E3:

The Winters

We are now back in a very wet Hampshire, arrived home yesterday evening and today it has done nothing else but rain! So much for doing the washing! Last day in Dalyan and bit traumatic - the washing machine broke down, had to wash the sheets in the shower - not the best end to the holiday. However we had a very enjoyable month with just the one morning of rain - stop moaning about the weeds Ihutch you should see them here! (haven't looked at the allotment yet but understand that Cassie has been working hard on that in our absence).

I like the look of the recipes John always willing to try to conjure up a bit of Turkey here at home.

I am back on the 12th with daughter for a girls only holiday (Roger will be on the allotment!!!). Hope the washing machine is repaired by then! Will keep a lookout for these electric bikes, might wave you down if we see you.

Well, you must have the washing done by now and looking at the forecast there is supposed to be a very warm weekend for UK coming up, so hope you enjoy that.
Enjoy your gilrs only hols when you get here, a bit overcast today with 30% chance of rain but sunshine after! Normal for here and at least its not 'sweaty' weather still.
Good luck with the allotment - lots of hard work needed there.

That was a short-lived exchange!! Has everyone gone into hibernation?
I know Irene and Cassie are on their girls holiday, but where is everyone else?
I'm over for a week on Saturday - will there be anyone to meet for a beer?
