Internet use in Dalyan

Some people come on holiday and want to use the internet, if you have a wifi netbook, notebook or phone, that is easy, most hotels and cafes have internet and mostly it is free.
You can also use one of the many internet cafes, however you will have to put up with Turkish keyboards and programs. You also MUST log out of any websites you use especially your bank and preferably clear your history.
This is very important, on the very few occasions that I have had to use an internet cafe pc, I have found foreigners bank access details and once it opened on the current a/c transfer page, so PLEASE remember to log out and delete your history.

Can any one offer me advise on a home broadband connection in Dalyan - is there one available?
We are thinking of buying in Dalyan and then the med-long term plan will be to spend longer out there, possibly working remotely from my UK office but to do this I will need a good broadband connection!

It all depends on how far you are from the exchange same as in the Uk this determines how good your connection will be

im one of the lucky ones and can max out at 7 meg and some days 3 meg but i my place is in Okcular

but to work remotely will be very slow as the ping to the Uk can be from 100 to 200 so it will be very slow responding

ping is a computer network tool used to test whether a particular host is reachable across an IP network; it is also used to self test the network interface card of the computer, or as a latency test.
It works by sending ICMP echo request packets to the target host and listening for ICMP echo response replies.
Ping measures the round-trip time[1] and records any packet loss, and prints when finished a statistical summary of the echo response packets received, the minimum, mean, max and in some versions the standard deviation of the round trip time.

so my advice would be next time you are over bring your laptop and jump in a cyber cafe and give it a trail run
