    Default fishing

im not much of an angler, but Dalyan being on the river, is it allowed to fish there?
as i said, im no angler, but i can see a pleasant day being had down by the river, with a six pack and a few worms, dodging mosquitos and snakes, idly dangling a string with an old paperclip on the end, trying to catch supper.
see that little girl in the red coat?
    her name is Leah.
    that's my princess, that is.
one day soon, i'm going to bring her to Dalyan.

Some of the boats offer fishing trips which of course means you can take the whole family but I am sure there are other ways where you can go off more or less on your own and have a few bevvies, which I thought was the whole point of fishing. Just ask around the boats when you are here. Not sure if anyone catches much!

thanks, but was more thinking of just sitting on the side of the river, watching the world go by, beers cooling in the water, that sort of thing, and taking the family fishing, well, if it was SHARK fishing i could see the point, always need good live bait when after the sharks, but just for an idle day? dunno about that

I don't see why anyone will stop you, the kids do it all the time, sans tinnies. It is supposed to be illegal but Iv'e seen locals fishing right next to the sign that says no hunting or fishing. The same as they use the sign that says no barbie's as a wind break when getting said barbie going.
There used to be signs along the roads warning drivers of the dangers of road rage but they all disintegrated with the gun fire!! At one time all road signs were considered good for target practice but things have changed quite a lot.

Get yourself down to the Ceyhan restaurant sit at one of the riverside tables order yourself a nice breakfast and a beer or two. Ask for some little bits of chicken and catch yourself a bagful of grey mullet .

Take them back to the villa gut and clean them and put em on the barbie, job done.

Highly commended John, but is it not a bit optomistic considering when he is coming. I think the idea is to get ratarsed and go to dalko to get the said catch, to side track the ratarsedness!!!

:Yep: Not sure if you can get ratarsed on a 6 pack. Maybe he could do that one day then catch mullet another.

I am not much of a fish eater myself but my wife and friends thought the bbq'ed mullet were the best fish they had ever tasted so it is worth foregoing the beers once in a while.

Forgot to mention to watch out for the cats when swinging the fish in, and don't fish to deep or you will hook a turtle and you will definately not land that!!!!

Oh and m1cksut did I mention that I only have 63 days to go.

wasnt so much to get ratarsed, just relaxed, after all if too drunk in daytime, may not feel like drinking at night. wasnt even to actually catch any fish, just seems like a great way to spend a morning or afternoon, with something to do in between drinks, rather than just sit around the pool watching the wife fry.

and surely i have the right to get ratarsed on a six pack if i want?
its not big or clever to drink too much you know!
alcohol is a poison after all, etc etc, liver damage, heart failure, all that rubbish, so my doctor says anyway.
    63 days?
    grrrr.

I've been crab fishing off the side of a boat we rented for the day.

Caught about 6 crabs and the captain cooked them for our lunch - v nice.

And yes, we all got drunk, including the captain, and we had great fun trying to get his boat back to the riverside without crashing into anyone.

    Was a great Dalyan experience.
