I wonder if anyone can recommend a good hamam in town and what the costs are?The only one I have used is the one the tour companies take you to on the main road to Ortaca and that one is a bit touristy and a bit too far.

There are 2 hamam in Dalyan, 1 is in the Acar Hotel and is priced from 20 lira for basic 20 minute massage with various others at various prices up to 60lira. The other one is bit further out from the centre near the Kontiki Hotel and sorry I don't know the prices but should be similar. I will be honest and tell you we go to the old one in Dalaman, which is not touristy and the same thing costs from 10 lira but you have to get there and back again.
Hi
I have been to the one at the Sahin Apts, there are signs to it all over the place - you can get to it from Gulpinar or from main road to Ortaca. It is more expensive (?13 0r 30YTL) but it is a 5 min walk from our place. Not been to others to comment on quality - it is only used by tourists when I have been there. For that price you get a scrub and soap massage.
best wishes
Dorothea
I would choose the Sahin over the Acar Park, although Acar Park has been revamped since last summer and may now offer better facilities. Has anyone tried it recently?
Just returned from week in Dalyan and went to the Acar Park Hotel for Turkish massage, was 25YTL for half an hour, with many other massages available for similar prices. Was just the two of us having it done at the same time, so pretty private and really enjoyed it
I also use the Hamam at the Acar.... you can ask the staff if you can stay in a bit longer and relax. It's very small and they are normally accommodating providing there aren't any other people in their waiting for their scrub!
I haven't used it since its revamp (as June posted) so I have no idea what the hamam is like.
The Dalyan resort Hamam is also very nice and has the added bonus of a sauna if you fancy it, but the last time I went the staff were all male, whereas at the Acar they are women (which I prefer).
Sorry Carla i would sooner have a hot scrub off a Turkish lady than a Fella
:Yep: :Yep: :Yep:
(Bet i get a slap of the wife for this one)

My wife tells me the ladies that do the massages on ladies only day are more frightening than the men but they don't take liberties unlike some of the touristy ones.
You just can't please everyone, can you?!!
I don't feel comfortable with a man massaging me.... my friends say the same... and I won't go into any stories I've heard (no not even if you beg me!)
