had a villa in yalikavak two years ago, really pretty little seafront, a few decent restaurants. its about half an hour from bodrum .
when we went there was a film shown at the local amphitheatre every thursday evening, which is near the harbour.
its not huge there, and one night would see you doing just about all it has to offer, to be honest, most evenings we just stayed around the villa or went to see friends in bodrum.
nice at the harbour side restaurants though, to see the shoals of fish chasing the bread you throw in.
its a pleasant little town, but if you are after excitement, (apart from the fish, obviously), give it a miss.
see that little girl in the red coat?
    her name is Leah.
    that's my princess, that is.
one day soon, i'm going to bring her to Dalyan.

We are off to Yalikavik next week for a few days, so will tell you if it was worth it. As for Orhaniye, went through last year and did not seem much changed from years ago apart from it being on the jeep safari run from Marmaris and there is some sort of marina there, apart from walking on water and avoiding the very touristy restaurant there I cannot think of a good reason to go.

Hi again, yes we did go, is it worth going as an overnighter? Probably, if only to see somewhere different and to make you appreciate what we have in Dalyan.
