Wild Weather!!

After a wild and wet windy night it is still wild and windy and wet today, our first proper winter storm, sorry it is still quite warm around 20c.

Good to hear that we are not the only ones - had a tornado go through Petersfield yesterday with many trees uprooted. Luckily no-one hurt.

Hmmm!!! Our storm was bad and uprooted a large poplar tree (approx 150ft) with a danger of it ending up on the roof!!! So calls made to the Belediye who sent 5 men to look and then say they couldn't do it as they wouldn't take responsibility if anything was damaged on the house etc. So call the gardener and a friend - they come and the tree is now down safely ( thank goodness). Another Turk did come to offer to do it at a rate of 200 Lira - good laugh as we are not as stupid (or rich) as he thinks!! Lots of roses and bushes laying flat and they will be put up when we can walk on the earth again without sinking up to our knees. Also a few small trees down but they can be saved too. Hope we don't have many more storms like that this winter. I do hope you didn't have any damage to house or garden. The sun has been out since but today cloudy. Roll on summer as I don't like winter much.
