Hi, yes we are back safe and sound, only a 3 hour delay. Came back with Monarch, nice flight, plenty of empty seats, even had a nice sleep so no complaints.

Hi everyone, Yes we are affected. I booked 2 flights for next May with XL.com but luckily I payed with a credit card and will get a full refund. Also I was able to book 2 new flights with Thomas Cook for around the same price.
All people must remember is, that if booking flights direct with the airline you will not be ATOL protected, so paying with a credit card is a must! Stan

Myself and mother were affected and not a message, call or text from XL, which I think is really bad as my mother is disabled and needed special seating and assistance. Anyway, luckily I found out quite early in the morning and decided to just go ahead and make my own alternative arrangements and found Thomas Cook flights at ?150ea o/w. Later the same flights had all gone and alterantives had gone up to ?300 odd.
