    Default Changes in the village

I hear rumours that the Hocahan is expanding downstairs to become a "Sports" Bar with pool, darts etc.and just having the restaurant upstairs - does this mean Askin's bar will be no more? Anyone know if has a new bar on the go? Also heard Faith is giving up the hidden Garden?
Another move to try and turn Dalyan into a mini Marmaris? Did the Fun Pub survive the winter?

Hi Banjoman, as far as I know, Askin is still in the same place, he's just finishing a refurb and his bar will be open on the 21st March. I also heard that Fatih was giving up Hidden Gardens and going up near the Kosk area and opening a fish restaurant, but don't know how true that is. I'm sure there will be many more changes in the months ahead.I also read the other day that Yener from the Ozalp apartments is opening up in what was the Starfish restaurant, there is also a new bar called Viva a few doors down from the Sofra Bar, and a new restaurant in what was Denizati, called Waterside. Seems like there will be a whole load of bars around this year. I used to like the Blue Bar area for its peace and quiet but I don't think there a quiet end anymore.

Askin is indeed in the same place I spoke to him yesterday and he wasn't sure if he would be ready by the 21st as there has been a delay with the sliding glass doors. He was hoping to have them by today.

Viva is run by Tay from the Delta Bar, he is keeping the Delta Bar as well.

I know the site of Lenas has been sold off but not sure what will be in it's place.
I have a photographic memory, but sometimes I leave the Lens Cap on.

What was the golden crab, now has a new name. I expect the normal flurry of activity at the start of the season with familiar faces moving from place to place jostling for position. New Names new bars, new restaurants and probably the same old ideas and menues.

There is much praise for Green Cottage on Trip Adviser - have you eaten there? Looking forward to our week in Dalyan on 13th May (only 4 days off). I also wonder whether the swimming pool was changed at Fatih Apartments? Thanks Steve

Cherian as far as Green Cottage is concerned I think we may be the only couple who haven't enjoyed their meal Hubby didn't like his one little bit, had the chicken plank I think it was, couldn't get his knife through the chicken and the food was cold. We also waited well over an hour for the main to come out. The young guy was very apologetic though and didn't charge us. Anyhow we won't be going back, but you must go with the majority vote and give it a try. Maybe it was just an off night for us. I wish them well, it must be hard with all the other superb restaurants about. Give it a go and let us know how you get on.

I must admit the look of the place put me off last September, although it did seem pretty busy. I agree with Tubby2 though that the number of good reports on Trip advisor outweigh the bad ( and rated as No 1 in Dalyan) so I would be prepared to give it a go in June - you will be there before us so let us know what is was like
