    Default Meet Up in June

Good to meet up with you again Steve, Andy and John (for the first time) Banjoman and of course all the wives. But where was Micksut? Looked out for you in all the bars we passed but didn't even get a glimpse (have you slimmed down or what?).

Continuous rain since we returned home - so much for the drought!

HI ALL, sorry we missed everyone, we had a manic fortnight with our friends from calis who turned up at our hotel just after we did on the friday, completely took over and made us do all the things we always said we wanted to but never got around to on other holidays.
many thanks to Kardak for letting us beat them down on price to hire a boat for the day for about sixpence each (six of us), and for introducing us to the other side restaurant.
we then saw olu deniz, calis beach and fethiye in swift rotation, before allowing one of the couples to miss their plane home by a full 24 hours, (not us, thank god!)
we finally, also, managed to have a hammam, not bad after about 15 visits to turkey.
mostly ate at ramazan han when in dalyan, however we did try the Diyar paradise one night, after the doorman, Mehmet, GUARANTEED that we would have the best meal ever in turkey or we wouldnt pay anything at all!
well,a bold claim that im sure he wishes he hadnt made now, and had just given me a free beer like i asked!
the starter was fantastic, garlic mushrooms, nice cold beer to accompany it, but the main course was a complete disappointment.
i had the mixed kebab and the other half asked for chicken shish, which the waiter immediately said was not as good as the chicken casserole.
anyhow, the chicken on both meals had a watery texture, as if it had been cooked and then frozen and reheated and the lamb shish on mine was tougher than mike tyson.
however, to be fair to the place, a couple who were leaving said that they would be happy to pay double for their meals, so either they were easy to please or we just got a bad meal each, at the same time.
anyhow, as i said, sorry to miss you all, but looking at next year already
see that little girl in the red coat?
    her name is Leah.
    that's my princess, that is.
one day soon, i'm going to bring her to Dalyan.

shame we missed you as well Micksut - one day we will catch up. Good to see everybody else, and only 11 weeks to go before we hit Dalyan again - intending to do all the things we said we would but didn't ( and not for the first time)
