The road into Dalyan
Have just read in the "Land of Lights" that the road from Ortaca to Dalyan is to be redone. Those of us who live here have no doubt seen the works going on nearer to Ortaca and it seems as if this will be continued all the way through, they are hoping to put in a 4 lane dual carrageway but this is not clear yet as they are considering the problems with turnings into village roads etc.
The article goes on to explain that the road has not had any proper maintenance for 30 years as it was unclear as to whose responsibility it was. As the road has now been included in the Tourism Route it has resulted in the Ortaca municipality taking responsibility for the Ortaca to Kemaliye section, the City Special Administration is to deal with the Kemaliye to Okcular section and the Dalyan municipality is to be responsible for the remaining section.
It is stated that they wish to complete the fill up to make the road wider during the winter and then to tarmac the road during June and July.
